We want Black kids to learn about Black artists
What we offer
Grades K-5
In grades K-5, we teach students about a Black artist their contributions African American history and culture, and then recreate a work using the same medium and techniques as chosen artist.
Middle School
With middle school aged students, Black Kid Art teaches students about a Black artist and discusses their contributions to history, culture, and social justice. From there, students may engage in various programming such as a Create your own exhibition activity or games such as “Guess which artist I am”.
High school
High school programming is essentially the same to Middle School Programming, except we add in a little bit of career development. Students will discuss careers opportunities in the arts such as Curator, Museum Director, Archivist etc.
